Friends of the Foundation,
The Sustaining Philanthropist Society and 1887 Legacy Society are donor recognition programs designed to honor alumni and friends who have made sustaining/major gifts and/or planned gifts to support the Alma Mater. The donor induction ceremony takes place during the annual gala, “A Night for Philanthropy” which will be held May 3, 2019, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, at the Dayton Club, 40 North Main Street, Downtown Dayton.
Sustaining Philanthropist Society
Under the umbrella of the Sustaining Philanthropist Society there are four donor recognition societies:
JOHN W. GARLAND AND CAROLYN FARROW-GARLAND SOCIETY: Members of this society support the University at a level of $100,000 or more
JAMES A ELAM SOCIETY: Members of this society support the University at a level of $ 70,000 to $99,999
CHARLES WHITEHEAD SOCIETY: Members of this society support the University at a level of $40,000 to $69,999
AUDREY NORMAN TURNER SOCIETY: Members of this society support the University at a level of $10,000 to $39,999
Alumni and friends will be inducted into the Sustaining Philanthropist Society.
1887 Legacy Society
The 1887 Legacy Society is a donor recognition program designed to honor alumni and friends who have designated a planned gift to the Central State University Foundation. Such planned gifts have ranged from $7,000 to $544,000. Over $6 million have been gifted to the University through planned gifts. Popular methods of giving are bequests, life insurance, and charitable gift annuities. For more information on planned giving, please contact the Foundation.
