Did you know that two thirds of people who make contributions do little or no research before giving?

Instead, they give to non-profits they already know, or those that are recommended by professional colleagues, family, friends, and alumni of a respective university. Put another way, even though we live in a hi-tech marketing world, word of mouth remains the most effective way of convincing non-donors to become donors.

The CSU Foundation is committed to rebuilding, indeed expanding, its donor base and turning these individuals into champions of the Foundation and its many programs–Dream Keepers and Named Scholarships, 1887 Legacy Society, Sustaining Philanthropist Society, and Java Coding and Data Modeling Institute. As champions of these programs donors will not only continue to give, but also spread the word about the excellent work of the Foundation. All funds raised support the Alma Mater.

An upcoming event that will give the Executive Director of the Central State University Foundation a chance to speak to donors and non-donors alike is “A Night for Philanthropy”. The “A Night for Philanthropy” gala will be held May 3, 2019,  at the Dayton Club (40 North Main Street, Downtown Dayton) from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. In addition to learning more about the Foundation, the event will serve as the induction ceremony for selected alumni and friends into the Sustaining Philanthropist Society and the 1887 Legacy Society. It’s a joyous occasion for all.

We hope you plan on attending the gala. Please contact Dr. Veronica Watkins at csufoundation@att.net or 937-640-1214 for additional information.
